Gel coat tubs are a more affordable option but require much more attention and may have a shorter lifespan due to their porous and temporary exterior color layer. Gel coat fiberglass walk-in tubs are created by spraying resin and fiberglass particles onto a mold, and then reinforcing it with additional layers of fiberglass.
