Acrylic walk-in tubs are recommended for those who prefer a long-lasting, glossy white finish that is easy to maintain and resistant to chipping, cracking, and fading. The non-porous surface does not allow mold growth, making it ideal for those seeking a low-maintenance option built to last.

Gel coat tubs are a more affordable option but require much more attention and may have a shorter lifespan due to their porous and temporary exterior color layer. Gel coat fiberglass walk-in tubs are created by spraying resin and fiberglass particles onto a mold, and then reinforcing it with additional layers of fiberglass.
